[Opinions] WDYTO Carrow?
Came across Carrow today, WDYT?. I'm pronouncing it like arrow with a C at the beginning (with my accent it's like a-roh, not air-roh). Girl or boy? Do you prefer Arrow? What middle names would you pair with it?
TIA!
TIA!

It mainly reminds me of the Carrow siblings from Harry Potter, who went around torturing kids in the 7th book.
I like it! In my accent, it would rhyme with arrow. The below combinations are to rhyme with the way you say it. I like it for a girl. It could get confused with Carol, but there are not many young Carols around anymore, so probably not.
Carrow Celeste
Carrow Lorelei
Carrow Noemi
Carrow Paisley
Carrow Simone
Carrow Annika

Carrow Annika

Thanks. I like Carrow Celeste!
Sorry I don't like it, I'm in Aussie too
Were it spelt Caro, I think it could work as a nickname for Caroline.
Ooh I’d love to hear people’s opinions on this one because I love the sound and would super want to use it... but I’m really hung up on the meaning because it literally is a word for a “a strolling gamester in Ireland” and in the OED it basically has connotations of someone who’s untrustworthy, etc. Usually I don’t care about meanings, but this one’s straight up in the dictionary :/ but on the other hand, most people wouldn’t know the word unless they looked it up.
Sound-wise, I totally prefer Carrow over Arrow. I think it’s more of a masculine name, but it could totally word as gender neutral.

I guess no one else is interested in giving their opinions on this one *shrugs*. I was interested in seeing what others thought too, which is why I asked.
I've seen a few definitions/meanings floating around, including use as a Cornish surname. Not sure how trustworthy they are though.
I have no problem with the meaning "gambler/gamester", it makes it more interesting to me. I love a trickster type character.
I'm leaning more towards masculine as well. I think it has a bit of a trendy vibe, who knows it may catch on! I'm thinking now that for a female I'd probably use Caro (as a nn for Caroline).
Thanks for your reply!
