A character name from Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel trilogy that I just can't get out of my head. I really like it. There is an Isandro in the database, so it isn't a huge stretch of the imagination.
What do you think of Ysandre?

- It think it sounds very fantasy-eque and a bit sexy, which is appropriate givent he books its from.

- I always think is-san-DRAY, but I don't speak french. A French speaker would be most qualified to makes head or tails of these names.

I pronounced it iss-AHND-ray just looking at it. Is it supposed to be feminine or masculine?
