[Opinions] Shara
How would you pronounce this?
I'm reading a series of books that feature a character with the name, it's pronounced SCHAR-a.
Do you think it would work IRL? Thoughts on it?

I'd pronounce it Shahr-uh. I think that's pretty in a nondescript way, kind like of Cara or Shea, but I don't like the SKHAR sound (too much like scar).
Shara is the name of Poe Dameron's mother in the Star Wars universe.

Using a different spelling, perfumer Sharra Lamoureaux is behind the "Alkemia Perfumes" line of fragrance oils, and she has a diverse collection to choose from (sold on Etsy). That's the only real-life usage I'm aware of.
As a name, though, I find it... kind of insubstantial. Like it's the first half of a name, or a nickname.
