I wouldn't see myself naming my daughter this but this is interesting, WDYT?

It sounds pink and powdery to me, and it would fit a white, hirsute cat well.

When I was at uni I knew two cheerful, blonde, tennis-playing sisters named Susan and Prudence who were of course known as Sue and Prue. Which didn't please me at all! One of them, I think Prue, was a successful businesswoman at one point but then she over-extended and went bust. Didn't live up to her name, unless it really was Sue all the time.
The only virtue name I like is Clemency; I can just about face Verity, but the rest, no.

I have a real soft spot for this name. I generally tend to like virtue names, so this one fits right in. The Beatles song is absolutely lovely. And plus I love the way it feels to say it. It reminds me of that rumour that the Olsen twins used to whisper the word “prunes” to each other before a photo was snapped so that they’d always be making the perfect “flattering” faces. I put that in quotation marks because I never actually loved that look. But it’s still fun to say.
But now that I’ve mentioned prunes, I can get around to the reason I’d probably never use the name in real life. People already associate virtue names with that divisive grandma trend, but the aesthetic link to the word prunes just puts it over the top and kind of makes me think of old people and their love of natural laxatives.

I associate it more with prude than prune, but that reinforces the old-fashioned impression as well.

I really like it. It's elegant and bookish.

As far as virtue names go, it seems dated/vintage, similar to Constance, and in contrast to names like Patience, Temperance, Grace which seem younger.
If Constance is like the Karen or Susan of virtue names, then Prudence is like...the Winifred or Harriet of virtue names.
It seems straitlaced, maybe in a cool way, maybe not.
I like it, mainly because of the Beatles song (or more specifically, covers of the original), and because I like the roo sound.
I wouldn't use it, though, and doubt I'd like being named it.

I agree it’s interesting but can’t imagine it on a real person, it’s a name the character of a comic aunt in a play would have.
