I like it a lot because it makes me think of naiads, and the meaning fits with that too.

I was thinking of Naia / Naja / Naya just the other day. I like it. We have a FB group for people who were due around the same time as I was, one of the mother's named her baby Naya.

I think it's pretty and wouldn't be considered "strange" or anything anywhere because the familiarity in several cultures with names like Maia, Kaia, Chaya, and the like.
