I dislike it for a girl. As for boy... My daughter has continual trouble with a Asher at her school. it's a lovely and I can't get rid of that association

I like it for a boy, don’t see why it should be given to a girl.

Ash just isn't an encouraging substance to name anyone after. I can just about stand Ashley because it's the ash as a tree and not as the product of combustion. And, apart from its gritty greyness, Asher also sounds like a sneeze. So, no.

I love it and would even use it...for a boy. I can imagine it on a girl but only with the Asha which could get mistaken for A-shah .

I really like Asher for a boy and Asha for a girl. I think it's a simple yet nice name on either gender. I would use both versions IRL except that I also like Sasha (g), Archer and Archie so it's always a toss-up between them all.

It's okay. Kinda bland and basic, like Noah. If Asher had a brother it'd be Noah. Or I guess a sister named Noah, if Asher were a girl...
It seems sort of, I dunno, preppy as a feminine name, but like, country-preppy. Like Sawyer or Ryan on a girl. I can totally picture a blonde female Texas A&M student named Asher.

I like it for a male only. Use Ashley or Asherah for a female.
