WDYT of Reese, for a girl? Too Witherspoon?
What would you use as a middle name?

It reminds me of candy - Reese's. Maybe also of cheese.

Rhys seems likable, for a guy.
Reese for a girl sounds like R + a common ending. Like Patrice, Bernice, or French Alice, but then it'd be Rice, lol.
Rhiannon "Ree" or Theresa "Reese" seem like they have more substance.
It's not a name I care about enough to really dislike, but I don't totally understand the appeal of it.

Regarding the Witherspoon angle, Reese Witherspoon was born Laura Jeanne Reese Witherspoon, but the actress decided to be called Reese, her mother’s maiden name. It’s a southern (US) tradition which I find lovely.
I do prefer the Rhys spelling if the naming does not involve a namesake.

I don’t like the spelling Reese as it reminds of the word Grease.
Reece is ok. I prefer Rhys. It is ok on a boy and I think it is a great name with an awesome meaning, but I love Rhys for a girl.
I’d opt for a very feminine middle to pair her with.

I used to know a guy who had kids named Alex (m) and Reese (f).
It seems kinda normal trendy surname name to me. I don't like it, but it's not too Witherspoon, and I feel it's unisex.
Names that end in an S sound can be hard to combine with middles ...
I wouldn't use initials K, T, M, N, L, F, SH, TH, D, P, Q, S ... G is iffy
vowels could work. R, V, H, J, Y, B

I like it better for a boy, but it just makes mr think of Reese’s peanut butter cup.

A friend of mine has twin daughters named Reese and Riley. (Their older sister is Makenzie.)
I prefer Rhys, and for boys. Reese puts me in mind too much of the candy, and yes of Reese Witherspoon, as well. Neither are bad associations necessarily, but they're there.
If I had to name a daughter Reese, I'd probably name her something like Reese Juliet or Reese Annabel. Give it something a little more obviously feminine to balance it out.
