[Opinions] Madgalene
How do you pronounce Magdalene and where are you from (very roughly, e.g. country?).
Do you prefer Madeline, Madeleine or Magdalene? (assuming Madeline pr. -lyn, not -line)
I like Madeline (-lyn) a lot but lately I find Magdalene to be even more appealing. And it doesn't come with Maddie which in my eyes is definitely a plus.

I like Madeline. It looks neater and tidier, and unFrench, which helps with the pronunciation!
Magdalene really doesn't work for me. I'd assume that the final -e was sounded, making it almost but not quite Magdalena, which is the default version where I live. And if it isn't sounded, then it would serve to lengthen the -e- so you'd end up with Magdaleen. And I heartily dislike -een names.
The version I prefer is Magdalen, which pretty much rhymes with Madeline! And, as you point out, it also solves the Mad problem.

Magda-lyn. I’m from Australia. My fave is Madeleine, but I wouldn’t use it.
I’m from the United States, so MAG-duh-len or MAG-duh-leen (I prefer the former).
My favorite variant is Madeleine, no doubt. So elegant.
