There is something about this and Annika that is grating. It's just annoying.

I prefer Annika

It's dated to late middle-age here, and usually it's Anneke, pronounced UNuhkuh. It's a diminutive of Anne, and I'd far rather name someone Anne, or Anna, and use Anneke as a nn if necessary.

Another spelling, often seen here and pronounced almost the same, is Annetjie - more like UNuhkee.

I like Annika prn. AHN-i-ka and Anneka prn. ANN-e-ka (but I think Anneka is usually pronounced the same as Annika).
For ah-nee-kah I'd guess Anika, but I guess that's still pronounced like Annika.
