Would you choose Jessica or Jennifer and why?
Would you choose Jessie or Jennie and why?
Would you choose a name from the Jess-group or the Jen-group and which one and why? E.g. Jessa, Jessica, Jessie, Jessamine, Jessamy or Jennifer, Jenna, Jennica etc.

Jessica because I've never liked the "fer" ending in Jennifer.
Jennie because it sounds more feminine and sweeter. My only issue with Jennifer is the last syllalble, Jessie is a little masculine.
I think I'd pick Jenna over Jessa, Jessie, etc.
Although I prefer Jessica and objectively like it, I'd rather have my fingernails pulled out than use it. So, so tired of it. I have known so many.

When I was in fifth grade, there were four (FOUR!) Jennifer's in my after-school group of like 20 kids, which made it one-fifth Jennifer. lol So yeah, it's waaaaaaaaay overused where I'm from, whereas I don't remember meeting as many Jessica's.
As for nicknames, I prefer Jessie. If I were to use Jennie, I'd use it as a nickname for Genevieve, which I do like.

I would probably use Jessica if we had a baby girl today. I have always loved it.
I have never liked Jennifer at all; it's the fer ending that I find unattractive, I think; also I have a cousin named Jennifer and none named Jessica. :)
I do think Jenny is a nice, friendly name, but a bit generic, like Johnny or Billy or Susie. Like a placeholder name.
I do like Jenna.
And Jesse is nice on a boy.

Jessica is way better than Jennifer. I think Jessica is actually pretty, can be mature and friendly. Jennifer sounds more annoying and mean.
I also think Jessie is better than Jennie (but I've actually never seen Jennie outside of the one from Blackpink... it's always Jenny in my experience)

ETA: I do see why people would have liked Jennifer before it was popular. It's a form of Gwenhwyfar, it had an unusual but interesting ending with the "ifer", etc. I just can't unsee the 80's. (same with Jason- I'm sure people thought it was so cool and interesting to name their baby after a Greek hero but now it's just... Jason.)
I also didn't know that Jenny was short for Jane before it was short for Jennifer. I guess it was a form of Janey/Janie. I'm not sure what I would think if I met a Jane who went by Jenny, but it's kinds of cool.

I've never been wild about the 'sica' sound of Jessica aven though I don't mind Jess, Jessie or Jessa. Still, there's something so sweet about Jenny so I'd go with Jennifer. Between Jessie and Jennie, I'd go with Jennie (prefer Jenny).
As for alternate names, I do like Jessenia. IRL, it might be unwieldy to use, however.

Neither are favorites, but I think overall I prefer Jennifer. I like the nickname Jenny a lot. I've known tons of Jennifers, but I think I've known even more Jessicas, and I haven't liked them quite as much as the Jennifers (who I tend to like a lot for some reason). Jessica feels kind of flighty, too. That said, I do like Jessie.
