Message: "Lazuli" - Behind the Name

I've been listening to a lot of Beach House lately and they have a song called Lazuli.

Do you think that as a name it sounds more feminine, androgynous or masculine?

Would you pair it with any names as a middle name?

If it was for a girl I don't think I'd like the idea of Laz as a nickname.

Lazuli sounds feminine. Probably because it reminds me of names like LaShonda, Ladonna etc

Also la is a feminine noun in French.

It’s an exotic name, somehow it reminds me of Hawaii.

I always love when a name comes from a favorite song/book etc

Zuli is quite pretty as nickname?

Reminds me of lapis lazuli from minecraft lol.

I don't mind it. I'd probably go boy, though not so bad on a girl

I remember thinking of that in the context of names at some point (probably in connection to Topaz), and not liking it, but now, apparently I do.

It reminds me of Lazar and Julie, soundwise, so, unisex.
