My first thought was Tamora Pierce, even though her name is Tamora and not Tamara.

I like Tamara but only with the emphasis on the first syllable. There were a couple in my high school and they pronounced it this way so that's stuck with me. The other pronunciations grate on me.

My parents loved this name and considered it for me. They didn't use it for me and, by the time my sister was born, my aunt and uncle had used it on my cousin. To me, it's a bit dated to the 90's but it's nice enough. I'd give Tamara a short mn like:

My cousin Tamara has two brothers, Codie and Jarrod.

I've always liked this name, probably because I was a big fan of Tia and Tamara Mowry and their show Sister, Sister was a big favorite when I was growing up. I strongly associate the name with them, which isn't bad because I still like them.

I also highly prefer the way they say it - tuh-mahr-ah. I just watched an old horror film a couple weeks ago called Tamara and the say it as tam-uh-rah and it just sounded so wrong and ugly and threw me off every time they said the name, which was a lot lol
