Weird, I just thought of this as a name the other day. I kinda like it, but in a GP way, not something I would ever use. I can totally imagine a Southern little girl with this name.

Too wordy, and I thought it was a boy name when I saw the title. Don’t like it.

Cigarettes and MonopolyI can see how it would be a cute name if one didn't know about either of those associations, though.

It makes me think of the place in London and Monopoly. May is nice enough and not too overused as a first name so why not use that?

Cigarette brand :-S

Makes me think of the posh London district. It’s a bit tacky .

All I can think of is Wayfair.

isn't it a skin magazine?In the UK?
That's embarrassing.
Even without the magazine association it sounds like a shopping center or a discount chain.

It reminds me of Camden and Loveday. I think it's cool.

I initially read it as Wayfair, lol. It's not my thing but it's not the worst? At least she can go by May if she wants.

Or even Farrah.

This is Mayfair all grown up:

Wow, is that Bette Davis? Cause then it would be an actual compliment.

Well, yeah, but she made herself look as grotesque as possible for that part, so not really.

Most likely the mother’s maiden name. I think May feminizes it and it sounds pretty. Even if it weren’t fem and frilly, I love the southern tradition of using the mother’s maiden name or a family last name as a first name.

It's not her maiden name. I'm not even sure it's a family name.

Ah ok when you said southern US I immediately came to that conclusion since Mayfair is a surname.
