I'd assume they were a fan of the author.
That they wanted to honor Maya Angelou?? But it’s a bit weird, wasn’t that the surname of her Greek American husband?
That she would have done better with Maya.
That they are big admirers of Maya Angelou, which I'm sure has already been said. But that's what I'd think.
It's a pretty name. She really likes Maya Angelou and elevates the status of poetry in her life. She's literary and likes to be inspired, probably a teacher. She's romantic. She's a she I'm talking about the mom.
I'd think either they would have done better to just name her Maya, or I'd think it was a version of Angie Lou and it sounded like a Beverly Hillbilly.
