Love it. The faery queen...what better name to give a kid?

I just can't stop seeing "tit". Plus I misread it as Tatiana the first two times.

Everyone seems to get it mixed up with Tatiana which is a shame because I think Tatiana is much more beautiful. I even met a Tatiana who was like "yes my name means queen of the fairies" and I was like... um no it doesn't. Titania was queen of the fairies but just because Elizabeth is queen of England doesn't make Elizabella mean beautiful queen. (Obviously did not say this out loud.)

I mentioned in a previous post that I have just finished teaching A Midsummer Night's Dream (in the UK all children, regardless of ability, study Shakespeare from age 11) and there were two responses to the name from them:
1) Tit
2) Misreading it as Tatiana
I agree with Anneza, the name was given in jest to the character. I wouldn't use it.
If you want Tania, Tatiana is a far nicer option.

I wouldn't think tit if I heard the name, but it definitely jumps out at me when I see it written (typed) out.

British and Americans seem to pronounce it differently.
This is poor use of phonetics but essentially US = ty-TANE-ee-uh, UK = tih-TAHN-yah

I can't picture it on a real person, it's just over the top, and not attractive.

I think The Titanic is an issue, but it's pretty. I wouldn't use it.

I think it’s very pretty. A girl would probably get Tania a lot as a nickname which isn’t nearly as lovely and otherworldly.

I far prefer Oberon, for a boy of course.
Titania is a joke - the Titans were giants, which makes it a very ambitious name for a fairy. And since our fascination with the Titanic seems never-ending, there is always the horror of shipwereck and icebergs in the background.

Pretty (I think it's prettier than Tatiana) and theatrical. Somewhat otherworldly.
