[Opinions] Maewen
I recently met a little girl of about 6 or 7 years old named Maewen ("MAY' wen"). She's quite creative, clever and whimsical.I noticed this name isn't in the database here but an internet search shows that it's a character in World of Warcraft as well as in a juvenile fiction book. Is this a familiar name to any of you? What do you think its origin, roots or related names/derivations might be?A user-submitted name here is Maiwenn, which is described as a Breton combination of Mai and Gwenn.Lastly, does it appeal to you?

It sounds very pretty, but I don’t like the spelling :/

I don't like it. What's wrong with Mae? It sounds pretentious to me.

I have never heard of it but it's pretty.I like the idea or May Winifred 'Maewen' or 'Maywin' as a cutesy nickname. The Breton name is a fun combination of May and Gwen.

The sound is nice, but I would use Maiwenn instead because it has a clearer etymology and is not associated with video games.

I like it, it sounds cute. It's young and summery. It sounds modern but like it's trying to reference mythology or something?
Maywen, Maewin, and Maywin would be similar names. Maiwenn looks good too, and less trendy.

I love it. It sounds like a Welsh name along the lines of Mairwen and Anwen.
