Lída is much better than Lyda. Lída means people. It's a great name.

It sounds like Lina with a bad cold. I like the look of Lida to Lyda, but like the similar Lydia best.

Seems too incomplete, acceptable as a diminutive. Prefer Leda or Lydia.

I don’t like it. Lydia is much better.

I greatly dislike it--it looks and feels unfinished. However, I adore Leda.

I don't care for it. I've tried and I can't. I love Lidia, but pronounced with 2 syllables as LEE-dyah. This isn't far from Lida (LEE-duh), but Lida seems so different and not as pretty.

I had a Great Auntie Llyda (LYE-da) growing up. I think her parents thought they invented the name, but I’m not sure. They certainly invented the spelling. She had a twin brother named Lloyd.

Obviously Llyda and Lloyd are ghastly for twins, but since he died in WWII way before I was born I only ever experienced her name by itself and I kind of like it.

I pronounce Lida and Lyda differently and way prefer Lida. Lida sounds like Lee-da to me and Lyda is like Lie-da (as in lying).

I've never seen Lyda, and I don't like the look of it.

Lida, short for Alida, is at best middle-aged where I live. It used to be used more frequently, when Afrikaans girls were routinely named after their grandmothers, but this habit is fading. I quite like the name, but I've only ever heard it in an Afrikaans context so I wouldn't consider it myself.

I like it. I like the two syllable L names. The 12 year old I know spells hers Lyda, pronounced Lie-da

Lyda I don't like as much. It's similar to Lyra, which is one of my most favorite names, but there's something... less pretty about Lyda. Not bad, I'd find it interesting if I met something with that name, but it's not a favorite.
