It seems very dated to me and I've never liked it in any case. It's always made me think of a child witch. I think the fast food association is stronger than the Peter Pan one.

You probably think of a witch because of the comics/cartoons Wendy the Good Little Witch and/or Casper and Wendy. Hilary Duff actually starred in a Wendy movie when I was a kid. Funnily enough, as much as I loved that movie and the cartoon, I had actually completely forgotten about her until I read your comment!
