[Opinions] Richard... WDYT?
I have really been liking the name Richard lately. It sounds very handsome.
I'm not a fan of nicknames like Rick or Ricky. But I'd use Ritchie on a kid.
It's also my husband's father's name. I'm not sure if my dad would be able to take it if I named a child Richard but with no "Karl" in it :/. Not exactly my favourite name.
WDYT? An old gem or dated used car salesman?

Richard is a family name to which I've always been partial. I wouldn't hesitate to name my own son Richard, if I ever had a son. I don't mind Rick, and Richie has also grown on me.
It's had a slight uptick in England recently and I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes more popular again along with the general trend towards old-fashioned names.
I wouldn't use it because of the rude nickname association, but I wouldn't judge anyone else for not caring about that.

I'm starting to like this one lately, too. Don't like any nicknames, though.
I've always found it a little boring. That being said, I can't separate it from Richard Papen, the protagonist of my favorite novel, The Secret History, so I do hold a bit of a fondness for it
Oh cool! Someone else has read that book!! Yes! I love it too. Donna Tartt writes so well, doesn't she.
She does indeed! So proud to claim her as a Mississippian.
Its ok
