I love the name Emily. I always have. WDYTO it? My only problem is how dang popular it is- Of course, that's fairly obvious :)
I'm trying to maybe find some variations that I like. So- Should I spell it Emilie? Is Emilia nice? Any comments and suggestions would be really great!
Also- WDYTO these combos?
Emily / Emilie Rosamund
Emily / Emilie Constance
Emily / Emilie Sparrow
Emily / Emilie Josephine
Emily / Emilie Genevieve

I have issues picturing it ageing, maybe because it's so popular on babies these days or because it ends in the cutesy -ee sound. I MUCH prefer the spelling Emilie, though (I';m just odd) and prefer Emilia to both.

Emily is a beautiful name but personally, I would avoid using it as a first name due to popularity. Emilia is pretty but I prefer Emily. Emmeline is another option. Emilie would probably just cause confusion if you're going to pronounce it the same was as Emily. The spelling Emily seems like the best bet. I like Emily Rosamund and Emily Constance the best for combos. How about Emily Patience?

I've actually always liked Emily but it's unusable to me as a fn because it's so overused. I rank it up there with pretty, classic names that are extremely popular -- Elizabeth, Katherine, Sarah, and Emily. I actually know several sibsets with 2-4 of these names included in them. :-/ I agree that Emilie is a bad idea (if not using the French pronunciation). I do like Emilia and Amelia. What about Amelie or Emmeline? I can definitely get behind Emily as a mn, though. I like all of your mn choices (well, maybe not Sparrow as a fn, but it's sweet as a mn, I agree), esp. Josephine Emily and Rosamund Emily.

I know what you mean. I think it's so pretty, but yeah, a little yawn from seeing it so often. I like the Emily spelling best, and Emilia just reminds me of Amelia (another past favorite ruined by popularity).
I like Rosamund, Constance and Josephine with it a lot.
I actually like Emily in the MN spot, too. It's kind of different there. I think your list would be lovely switched around, with the less popular names as FN and Emily in the middle. The flow is still there, and if she wants to be called Emily it would work, but that way the popularity isn't the first thing you think of when you hear it. It's sort of just background noise in the MN, not quite a filler, but still safe and pleasing.

My best friend's name is Emily -- I love it. It is very popular, but if you really like it, you should use it.
I really dislike the spelling Emilie; I'm not sure why, it just bugs me.

Hehe.. My best friend is also an Emily! I don't really need to worry about actually using it, considering I'm twelve and won't be helping to name any more siblings, but you were definetly helpful! I think Emily Sparrow is my favorite also. Do you have any combo suggestions, perhaps? You seem to have nice taste :)

Emilia is strong, just like the character in Othello. I admire the character, and thus I like the name.
I wouldn't spell it Emilie unless you're going to pronunce it the French way. If you're not going to, then it's no different from spelling it Emileigh.
Emily Constance and Emily Sparrow appeal most to me from your list. Have you considered Emily as a middle name? It's got less of a popular sheen and more of an Emily Dickinson feel for me when it's not in the starring role. Sparrow Emily would appeal a great deal to me.
