Brittany, Tiffany, Kimberly, or Whitney? Which would you choose and why? Least favorite?

KimberlyI like the nickname Kimber, and "ly" is better than "ny/ney" (at least in these names). Brittany, Tiffany, and Whitney are almost equally annoying. Brittany is more bitchy and Tiffany is more ditzy. Whitney is slightly nicer but also a little ditzy, and it reminds me of words/phrases like 'witless' and 'cares not a whit'.
Kimberly is more down to earth, it's still a popular 80's type name but it sounds like someone who might be smart and able to get stuff done. Like Kimberly might still be a popular kid in this high school (because these names are perpetually in some kind of high school drama), but she's good at sports and actually does homework and isn't afraid to get dirty.

TiffanyThen Whitney, Kimberly, and Brittany. I like Tifanee better.

BrittanyI don’t really like any of these names, though I guess Brittany’s the best one out of the four.
My least favorite is a tie between Tiffany and Kimberly - both incredibly annoying.

Best is Whitney, worst is Tiffany. Whitney is pretty, interesting and I like the W. Tiffany sounds childish to me, and I dislike the F sound. Brittany and Kimberly are both okay.

TiffanyI don't love Tiffany but I like that it comes from a real first name.
Brittany isn't too bad, but the relatively brief and intense popularity made it seem bad.
I have known too many horrible Kimberlys to like the name, and I never liked it in the first place. But I do like Kim.
I really dislike Whitney. It's okay as a guy name ... if it was given before 1970 ...

I like all; Tiffany - Kimberly - Brittany - Whitney in that order. Last two almost tie.

Least fav is the easy question; Tiffany. After that it's a toss up between Kimberly and Brittany. I'm leaning towards Brittany bc I'd like "Britt" a little more than "Kim" today.

TiffanyTiffany easy because I like the meaning and the sound is OK.
Kim is nicer than Tiffany, but -berly is so unattractive and I don't care for the meaning.
Whitney next, then Britney which is so ugly. Brittany is nicer, but still worse than Whitney.

KimberlyI love Kimberly and would use it today. It just feels bubbly and spirited. My next choice would be Tiffany and then Brittany. My least favourite is Whitney because it doesn't have any nicknames I like.

I'd choose Brittany. I kind of like the sound (three syllables) and it makes me think of the region of northern France where I once had a holiday. It also has the advantage that it was never popular in the UK (briefly made it into the top 100 in the 90s I think) so it's not tied to a particular era. I also recently watched the film "Brittany Runs a Marathon" which I liked (though I noticed everyone pronounced it with two syllables in that).Least favourite is probably Whitney. I just don't like the sound of it. I think it's the "whit" sound at the start I don't like.

TiffanyBy far. My least favourite is Kimberly.

Ouch!I can't even bring myself to type the last three, so that would appear to leave Brittany! Which is a terrible fate, but at least it shortens pleasantly to Britta or Britt.

TiffanyI used to be prejudiced against Tiffany, but I noticed (upon meeting a Tiffany the other day), that I've started to really like it!
I like the history and the sound, and it seems spunky; the pop culture references and datedness (connected to ditziness I used to perceive) don't bug me anymore.Whitney would be my 2nd choice. I've only met one, and I don't dislike it...at least not as much as something like Courtney, which I can't stand.

WhitneyIt's the only one on the list I can tolerate. The others I flatout hate, with Brittany and Tiffany being the worst IMO. At least Kimberly has Kim to fall back on.

TiffanyI love that it is connected to the Epiphany feast day.I have trouble saying the "tn" sound in Brittany and Whitney. If I had to pick from these two, I would pick Whitney. My least favorite is Kimberly. The "erly" part makes it sound like an adverb.

I'd choose Whitney. I actually like Kimberly just a touch more but am not fond of the nn Kim and it seems almost inevitable. My BIL's SIL (does that make her my SIL once removed, or what?) is named Kimberly and she's the only Kimberly I ever knew who prefers to go by the full name.I like them all, actually.

WhitneyI think of these, I would pick Whitney. No real reason other than I like the sound of it the most, and it’s probably the least popular of all four, so it’s not like everyone knows several grown up Whitney’s the way the probably do Brittany’s or Kimberly’s.Kimberly is okay, but I just know so many and already have personal associations with it, so it loses its sheen a little. I have to give third place to Brittany because it had such a flash in the pan moment in the early 90s that’s very hard to get past, but I don’t think it’s a bad sounding name.I think Tiffany is my least favorite, probably because I’ve always thought it sounds the weirdest? But it’s also hard to shake the association of cheaply made, expensive jewelry that everyone ached for in high school.

WhitneyTo be honest, I liked all of them at some point. At the moment I dislike all of them. It's like sometimes I can see why people liked them back when they were popular and how the names must have seemed before they exploded and then rapidly fell in popularity. But now I mostly have an 80s/90s cheerleader association.Brittany - this wouldn't be so bad if everyone pronounced it with three syllables. The region in France is beautiful. However, BRIT-nee sounds awful to me and I think it would be hard to enforce the three syllable pronunciation. I also hate the nickname Britt or Brittie. I feel like this has aged the worst even though it was the last one of the bunch to become popular.Tiffany - sometimes I can still feel its 80s glamour. I hate Tiff and Tiffy. But it is nice that it has a long history, having been used on girls who were born on the epiphany. It gives it more depth and meaning than Brittany. But the sound is so 80s cheerleader and I feel it has a bit of a tacky image, similar to Crystal's, due to its association with the store.Kimberly - again I dislike Kim and Kimmy. Especially Kimmy, it is awful. It reminds me of diamonds, because of the diamond town (I think spelled Kimberley). But it feels so tired.Whitney - a bit Whitney Houston but not overly so. I think I'd choose this. It is also dated but doesn't feel tacky. I have a soft spot for all of them, in a way. I think I'd go with Whitney. I dislike Whit but my guess is that it is not so likely to get shortened. "White island" is also quite a nice meaning.

BrittanyI can't put my finger on a particular reason. Least favourite is Kimberly. I find it pretty irritating, like most Kims I've met.
