[Opinions] Naomie
I really like Naomie, it looks more complete than Naomi. What do you think of this name? Should this name be more popular in the English-speaking world? Do you prefer Naomi?

I love Naomi, but Naomie looks like a typo. I guess it could be worse.

Hate it with the e, Naomi is lovely

Eek, I hate it. It makes it go from streamlined and rather pleasant to squishy and playskooled. May as well go for Nayomie, right? I actually think I like that better than Naomie.

Naomi is one of my favourite names, but I can’t stand it with the superfluous e at the end sorry!

In English at least, the final e feels random and pointless.

I like Naomi much better.

I think it looks awful with the -e! Messing with the spelling in that way suggests that you intend a different pronunciation, not just a decorated form of the standard spelling. I far prefer Naomi, but I'd never use it: unlike Ruth, it has never been widely used in English, and that OH in the middle sounds depressing.

That must be regional - Naomi has been consistently in use in the US and is currently more popular there than Ruth. I know quite a few Australian women a around my age named Naomi too.

Maybe it's a generational thing, but I went to school with three girls called Naomi and met a handful at university.I have never met anyone under the age of 60 named Ruth.

The only Ruth I know must be 40 I suppose; she's got a 5-year-old. But this is South Africa, so maybe regional rather than generational? I've never met a Naomi at all.

Naomi is jumping in popularity, it's at number 59. I actually know two young sisters named Miriam & Naomi.I wanted to use Naomi, my husband wouldn't consider. But then I'm used to the Hebrew pronunciation and nay-oh-me would have annoyed me to no end.

The e is totally unnecessary; it doesn't add anything to the name, and Naomi itself is the default spelling.
I really do like Naomi, though not really enough to want to use it.

It's cool looking, but I like Naomi more because its more familiar to me :)
