[Opinions] Sia
Is it usable? Do you like it? Do you hate it? I think it’s quite a nice, short little name. I like it as a shortened version of Anastasia, for the wonderful meaning. I’m not really a fan of the singer Sia though and worry it might be too tied to her. Anyway, thoughts?Sarah -

I dislike it, and think it's too tied to the singer, and seems insubstantial. Lia and Ria are at least alternates to real names (Rhea, Leah) but Sia is not. It sounds like see ya! as in, what people say when they are glad to see you go.

Only usable if you are okay with everyone thinking you are a massive fan of the singer and honored her which I guess you are not. I think it's unattractive and harsh. Better to put Anastasia on the birth certificate even though the nickname Sia doesn't really make sense. It feels unnatural like an Aaron nicknamed Ron.

So insubstantialIt's hardly a name to me.

I went to school with a Sia, once upon a time....
It's also a Greek city. It's not a favorite and nothing I'd use, but I think it works fine as a name and I don't think it would be too tied to the singer where I'm living. No idea how it would be in other parts of the world.Edit; I also know someone who's in a relationship with a guy Sia. I think he's from Iran or somewhere around there.

I think it's quite nice but 100% tied to the singer. You definitely couldn't avoid it!

Quite insubstantial and nicknamey. I also think it’s too tied to the singer (I’ve never heard it used except in relation to her). I really like Anastasia though.
