Dated-sounding and ugly, just like Agatha and Agnes. The "Ag-" part just sounds hideous.I do prefer Alaia, as trendy as it might be. I guess Alaia got popular because it’s short, feminine, and resembles Alan/Alaina.
I love Aglaia! I rediscovered it recently and I'm trying to think of a good middle name for it.I don't like Alaia at all though. It looks like one of those trendy names without substance to me.
I like Aglaia but prefer the Russian form Aglaya.Alaia is vowel heavy, and vowel heavy names are very popular now. I'm glad to see it is getting use! It's very pretty. I think I prefer it a little over Aglaia / Aglaya.
