[Opinions] Riptide
Thoughts on this for a boy's name? Is it too beach bum?
He who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man.

Sounds too much like a superhero name.
Um, no. Beach bum has nothing to do with it.
It actually seems like anybody who would think this is a good name wouldn't be a real beach bum, because a real beach bum would not think a riptide is a nice thing.
Riptides are dangerous. Naming a kid Riptide would be like naming him Jellyfish or Sunburn.

Sunburn lol
I want to read it as “reptile”.
Yeah. Potential siblings Barnacle, Driftwood, Tsunami.
I actually like Driftwood
If possible, it's even worse than Neaptide.
not a name at all
Yeah ... it is too beach bum I guess (fanatically, even). And it also makes me uncomfortable because riptides are seriously dangerous, so it makes me think of people getting swept away and drowning. Not a fun or playful vibe like I'd expect a beach bum name to have.
Ripley's not so bad ... maybe that instead.
Eh, maybe not these days when people are saying "rip" as they do.

I don't care for Ripley at all.
This is too much, really doesn't work for me at all. Yes, it sounds like a surfboard brand.
I don’t even know what this name is. It sounds like a crackhead or something named their child. 1/10.
