I know it's supposed to be a stingy, uptight name, but I find it really warm and it has a nice mouth-feel for me. I'd love to meet a Prudence. I think Pru / Prue is a really cool nickname too.

It's a good quality, but as names go ... I find it uninteresting. And, I was at uni with sisters named Prudence and Susan and known as Pru and Sue, which I found unfortunate and cartoonish.I would not use Prudence.

Prudence Marianne
Prudence Marisol
Prudence Gaudelupe
Prudence Wuguli
Prudence Theodora

What’s the meaning of Prudence-of-a-Cautionary-Tale and Prudence-be-Wary-of-Hallow's-Eve? I’ve never heard them before.

Nothing, they've been in my head for awhile for characters someday. The multi-word and hyphens is kindof puritany but nothing they would've picked. Basically for fun

Ugly. I really, really, really don’t like it. The sound is so unappealing and the name itself conjures up the image of an old, bitter, stern lady. I don’t like Pru / Prue either. I like Constance a lot better, which isn’t exactly similar but slightly so.

I don’t like it at all. It sounds like prudish and prunes.

I don’t like it. To me it conjures up one image: a middle aged Puritan lady.

Yeah, I think it has its charm. I used to dislike it, but now I think it's kind of punk rock, in its own way. Prue is a cool NN, too.

Dowdy and sternly Puritan and very unattractive-sounding. I don’t care for it. Reminds me of a sullen old Puritan woman in colonial America who teaches her daughters to submit to their husbands while spanking a child on her knee with a paddle.

Don’t like it at all. Has to be one of my least favorite names.

I like that people ask about it on the board because it's my puppy's funny name. I like that it mutes momentum and has nothing showy or fancy about it. I like Prue, but everyone else likes Pru. I call her Proot and Prupru and Prudie and Proopalina and I love her. the end. I don't really care for it on a human. At a park a little while ago, someone asked if her name was Providence or Prudence. Providence seems like such an unusual, striking name compared to homely Prudence.

Providence is kind of cool, really.

I prefer Prurience.:)

As who would not?

Prurience is ok, but it just sounds so pushy imo...:)
