[Opinions] Neptune
Thoughts? I've been really into this name lately, mainly because the planet neptune is so interesting and people use Mars as a name.

I've been so into Neptune and Neptunine for the last like, 2+ years. Love it.

I think it's a beautiful name!

I think it's pretty and fun. I think of Neptune as being feminine energy in astrology, so I would be OK using it for a girl. Except, the energy and symbolism of Neptune is a little bit complex in my life right now, so it wouldn't be a straightforward blessing to use it. Lol.

Pretty stupid and obnoxious as a name on someone, though I will admit I’ve been intrigued by Neptunine.

It would likely be decent as a middle name but I feel like only some people could really pull it off. I’d prefer the prettier planet names Mars, Venus, or Saturnina.

It's great for a character. Middle name material on a person.

I just posted about Mars without reading your post first. I like it.Neptune just doesn't have the best sound, in my opinion.

Hi !!!I like Neptune. I actually love any nature-themed name and also the mythological ones.Being named after a planet is not so different to be named after a star or a moon. Why Luna, Soleil, Venus or Electra would be good and Neptune instead is seen as ridicolous? In my opinion there is no difference. I like it a lot!

I wouldn't use it myself for a human because I'm wary of the ocean, but I can imagine calling someone Neptune and liking it.
Part of me doesn't like the nep sound (I think nepotism), but I would probably get over that if I met one.I think it's better than Adonis (which is in the US top 300), weirder than Ocean, and about the same level of weird as Jupiter, Napoleon, Boone, Venus. For context: I like Dionysus, Minerva, Saturnina, June.
I know a song called "Father Neptune" that maybe makes it sound more namey to me than it would be otherwise.

Do people use Mars as a name? I've never come across it.

There's someone in my Facebook mom group with a daughter named Mars. There were 88 boys and 20 girls named Mars born in 2019: https://www.behindthename.com/top/beyond.php?name=Mars&gender=&type=sample
