[Opinions] Valhalla
A FB friend of mine just posted a video of her son playing with her granddaughter. The granddaughter’s name is Valhalla.
I was pretty surprised by this because the family is fairly religious (of the type that usually is pretty opposed to any sort of “pagan” imagery), but it looks like she may have been named after a lake in the area? Still weird, though.
Anyway, WDYT of Valhalla?
you taught me the courage of stars before you left
how light carries on endlessly, even after death
with shortness of breath, you explained the infinite
how rare and beautiful it is to even exist

In apartheid South Africa, a large and sinister army base near where I lived was called Valhalla. So was the residential area next to it. It really doesn't seem human at all. Granted, the name of the base has changed, but the suburb lingers on. I suppose the little girl will be called Val or Hallie; either would be an improvement.
Lord that is funny if they just named it after the lake without googling it. It's such vivid "pagan" imagery... bless
A bit on the pretentious side, don’t you think? It’s like naming your kid Heaven or Paradise.
A place where people spend eternity slaughtering each other and getting drunk isn't something I'd name a child after.
It's nice, good sound
Speaking as a Scandinavian... it’s one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard.
