I fell in love with this name last night as I was trying to fall asleep. I love that it's antique and ornate but so sparkly and sprightly, too. Plus, I learned that it's the name of a plant colloquially known as eyebright and historically associated with the Zodiac sign Leo (my sign) and used to treat bad memory. Cool!

I love it! Eu- names are so charming, especially the ones for girls, and their French variants are lovely as well. I also love the meaning.

Being an amateur herbalist, I use the herb eyebright quite a bit and love its energy. "Euphrasia" is a Greek word that basically means "good-hearted". That would fit astrologically, as the sign Leo rules the heart.
Parents in the 1800s US really took to the ancient classical names, including "Eu-" names like Eunice, Eudora, Eugene, etc. When I was younger, I didn't like those names at all. As time goes on, I'm acquiring an appreciation for them.
