I'm glad it's not my name.
It sounds like a quaint British pet name, similar to how Petal would to me...I have this feeling that they coo a lot or are meant to be cooed at, and that gives it a mildly condescending vibe...this also bothers me about Dove, which I like anyway.
But I've been pooped on by a pigeon and not by a dove or a petal, so there's that.
And a dove has connotations of peace, while a pigeon is slang for a dupe.
