My father made my name up in 1977. It means bringer of the light; of the sight.
I dont believe in the sight or light. But he did, and because I was born during the huricane in 77 and I had a double caul over my head and face. And when they cut my cauls away the sun came out and shined for the first time in 5 days.
Now there arw 3 Crystalshines. Lol

Glad you like it. Not sure what you mean by not believing on the sight or light. Believe or not, light and sight objectively exist.

I think maybe she meant light as in "I saw the light", and sight as in "the inner eye" or whatever, but I could be wrong.

Edit: It does sound made up though (well, it is anyway) and it sounds like a combination of the words crystal and shine.

Why smash two English words together and then say that it means something else in English? We know what crystal means and we know what shine means, and neither of those words mean "bringer".

It irks me so much too. Can't these people at least say "my parents waned it to be symbolic of *thing*"? It's probably my biggest pet peeve for names.
It's all fun and games until I name my daughter Dawn and go around telling people it means hope, causing several aneurysms.

None of them means "light" or "sight" either....
I guess shine could mean "light" in a poetic way.

After that, I don't mind saying that Crystalshine sounds like Windex's new competitor.
