I’ve only encountered it as a stripper’s name.
Quite cute. Star is a nice nickname.

I like it. It's got that "lying in the gutter but staring at the stars (literally)" vibe to it. A name like Starlene seems to come with a story behind it. It sounds like the name of a plucky 1930's heroine during the Great Depression. It's got a very endearing combination of trashiness and hope that I am particularly weak against. Actually, this is inspiring me to search out other names in this vein, I like them so much.
Love the imagery, made me blow air out of my nose a bit.
I think those are nice. That's actually a compliment! :)
It sounds very 60's or 70's(?) Goes with Starla, Carla, Jolene, Doreen, Marlene, etc.
I like the idea of star- names but just "star" in English sounds a little awkward IMO. I prefer names involving "stella" or "aster/astra".

Don't really like it, I prefer starla
This is what Starling pretty much sounds like when I say it anyway :)

It has a lot of personality but she might end up feeling left out bc it’s so unique. Make it her middle name if you really love. Honestly I think you should keep looking though
It's unique. I have never heard of it before. I think it is actually a fairly good name, but I'm not sure if I would name a kid that. If I did use it, it would probably be as a middle name.
