Its not really my style, as it sounds a little plain to me. While I think the meaning is lovely, it might make more impact and have more energy as a middle name.

I think it's pretty and could work as a first name. It's no shorter in sound than Rose, Grace, Anne, Faith, Ruth, etc.I do, however, think that it's a lot of pressure to put on a child. Who wants to be joyful all the time? What if Joy has depression? I'd put it in the middle.

Joy would be very refreshing as a fn. It's simple, but it packs a lot of energy.

I like Joy a lot. It's my mn, but I like it as both a fn and mn. ^_^

Joy isn't my style but it's not tacky or horrible. I think it's a matter of taste.

Its okay but a little to short for me as I tend to like long girls names ie Elisabeth Catherine Alexandra
I have a cousin called Joy Sophia

I love it - simple and sweet with a wonderful meaning. WAY underappreciated in a world where 25% of newborn girl seem to carry the name Hope, Faith, or Grace.

It works perfectly well--it's not too short at all. I think Joy is really nice.Array

She had fallen against the windows, which were pressed against the windows, which were pressed against the old oak near across the age of the old Aunt Sophronia--was almost dreadful enough to walk on. A revolution without dancing is a revolution not worth having.
