Definitely sounds interesting, but I'd have to agree it's not that great to actually use.

It should never be used in real life for any gender. A pet maybe, but that's it.

It's a good name for a town, but not a person.
Harry Longabaugh was called the Sundance Kid because he'd spent time in the jail in Sundance, Wyoming.

It just makes me think of the film festival.

SundanceI wouldn't use it as a first name, but it is attractive, and assuming that Sundance is the meaning, I love it! Female definitely.

Sounds like a surname.

Having the word "dance" in a name ... just feels kinda gimmicky, to me.
If I read it in a list of people's names, I'd be inclined to mispronounce it to rhyme "abundance."
Unisex.
Would never consider using, in part because of feeling it's too strongly associated with Sundance Film Festival.

I'm pretty sure I've called someone Sundance as a trail name (hiker culture thing).
Or maybe I'm getting them confused with Firewalker. It's sweet and bold and not much else. I feel no connection to it, so wouldn't use it.
I don't like that I associate it with elitism/competition either.I don't dislike it, in general, for other people. I can imagine it being a fun name to have. It's unisex.Sundance Journey and his sister Indie Moonbeam

As a nickname, possibly. Definitely for a pet. I guess I'd say unisex, though Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid predisposes me to lean masculine.

No way I would use it :)
It sounds feminine to me, and has a hippie vibe/aura.
