It has a good sound, and I prefer this spelling to Aphrodite. But I would never use this name for a child because Afrodite was a controversial goddess: she was the goddess of beauty and love, but she was the goddess of fool passion too. She betrayed her men and planned revenges and punishments to mortal women who were too beautiful or didn't celebrate her. Also, she planned Dido's ruin.
