[Opinions] Please suggest some Japanese names for my character
She is a high school student who is often bullied by her classmates. Nevertheless the main character appreciates and fell in love with her, promising that he would never let her suffer anymore.
It would be nice if you can also suggest surnames. By the way I know the story sucks.

I have no idea what an appropriate Japanese highschooler name would be. With my luck I'd suggest the Japanese version of Gertrude or something.
That being said, I like the Japanese name Mirai. It means "the future" which I always thought was really lovely; hopeful and sad at the same time, which your character sort of sounds like too. Apparently it is kind of a dated trendy name.
Oh! I made a post about Japanese word-names a bazillion years ago that you might find interesting:

Lots of interesting choices, and also great feedback from abbasdaughter, who I believe actually lived and worked in Japan.
Also someone I follow on IG has twin girls who are half Japanese and they have really cool names: Yurina and Miharu. No idea what they mean though!
