Not a fan to be honest, it’s too wordy.

I like it, along with several other bird names as human names, like Meadowlark and Merlin, although it'd definitely be a dramatic choice.

I think of it as unisex, though as a feminine MN, it'd make me think of wartime nurses more than I want...otherwise, I think of the fairytale and symbolism.

Thoughts on these?

I like that it's baroque but also kind of mundane (because it's rooted in the natural world, I suppose?). I prefer Luscinia and Philomel / Philomela, though. :)

I think it would make a really lovely middle name. Or, it would be fantastic to find out a Gale/Gail is actually a Nightingale, wouldn't that be wild? Philomel is also beautiful.
