[Opinions] Carlisle

I like it, but I don't think I would use it personally. Maybe as a middle if I had a personal connection to it or if it was a family name as in your case. I get hipster vibes from it.
There is a Carlisle St. near Temple University, although some students would actually pronounce it "car-LIZE-ul," which is cringe.
Combos. Um...I'm not very good with boys' combos, but I'll give it a shot...
Thatcher Carlisle
Elliot Carlisle
Rufus Carlisle
Carlisle John
Carlisle Ashton
Carlisle David
Carlisle George
Carlisle Winston
Carlisle Cash
Carlisle Cody
Carlisle Jameson
Carlisle Jamie
Carlisle Jacob
Carlisle Girard

It's snobby, not a good thing lol. 1/10 for imposing vibes. Edit: and imo masculine.

It's so much better than Lyle - I'm not sure why. Maybe it's because I do kind of like Karl.
I think of argyle and aqua green and rocky coastline. Also, like...brandy and cigars, that type atmosphere.
I feel like it's dorky similar to how Garfield is but less cartoonish.
Or it's stuffy and popculturey like Atticus but less annoying imo.
The meaning's nice.
Grainne Carlisle
Ursula Carlisle
Noa Carlisle
Nellie Carlisle
Clover Carlisle
Loveday Carlisle
Gregory Carlisle
Ezra Carlisle
Peter Carlisle
Peregrine Carlisle
Carlisle Winifred
Carlisle Siobhan
Carlisle Epiphany
Carlisle Bernard
Carlisle Jerome
Carlisle Niklaus
Carlisle Maximilian

It’s a lovely name! And I enjoy this spelling infinitely more than Carlyle (which I don’t enjoy at all).
I have to admit that other than the English city (and Robert Carlyle), my first thought is “Carlisle Cullen”. But most of the names used in the Twilight books are favourites of mine, anyway, so I’ve accepted tears ago that many of my favourite names have Twilight associations.

"I've accepted tears ago" is such a great typo.
You’re right. And very appropriate too.
I like Carlisle. I tend to like boy names ending with an L, and I don't mind surnames as first name quite as much when the surname isn't also an occupation. Carlisle sounds like the more down to earth alternative to Castiel, but a more distinguished alternative to Carl or Lyle. Unfortunately, Twilight is one of the few stories that I know of with this name. While Carlisle wasn't a bad character, I wouldn't name a child after him. If only it had a couple of more associations.
An old traditionally used English name would probably pair nicely with it.
Alexander Carlisle
Roderick Carlisle
Edmund Carlisle
Philip Carlisle
Magnus Carlisle
Carlisle Arthur
Carlisle Frederick
Carlisle Athelstan
Carlisle Hugo
Carlisle Ivo
Carlisle Phineus - This sounds like it should be an 1890s archeologist.

This was almost my name! My mom had Carlisle and Christopher on her shortlist. So I've always kinda felt like Carlisle is my "alter ego". Not Christopher, definitely Carlisle.
Did Twilight ruin this name? I feel like the Twilight influence in general is starting to slip, but it was one of the only places you saw this name.
Maybe I would have been Carlisle Nicholas? That's actually pretty dang nice.
I love the "lisle" part, it's so glittering.
Mary Carlisle is really pretty. I do like Carlisle for all genders, it seems very flexible, I think because of the glitter involved.
Carlisle Megan huh I should work with Megan in the middle more, it's so random
Carlisle Juniper
Carlisle Samantha
Carlisle Lucille. Lucy Carlisle. No, Lucie Carlisle
Carlisle Denise - why am I so into Denise lately
Carlisle Clarissa (another alter-ego name)
Lillian Carlisle
Vivian Carlisle!
Moira Carlisle
Lydia Carlisle yes
Carlisle Ivy
