Cashmere?

I think people are being too harsh. People use word names all the time. Cashmere has comforting and precious connotations. Also it can be considered an alternate spelling of Kashmir, which is a place, or an anglicization of Casimir/Kasimira, etc.I wouldn't mind meeting a Cashmere, but I think I prefer Kashmir personally.

I guess they don’t have Cashmere toilet paper where you live? It’s probably regional. When people name their children after luxury products, it always sounds cheap.

Just googled and they say they’re the #1 toilet paper brand in Canada, so I guess you’d just have to hope she never wants to move here or interact with anyone from here.

All I can think of is the Hunger Games character. Far to associated with the book and movie.

Cash + mereThat's all I can see. The sounds aren't bad, though.Casimir and Casimira are much better.

Why not?

Silly. As silly as naming someone Mohair or Angora.

I like how it sounds, but not good as a name. I'd suggest Kasimira.

Love the sound, but it isn’t good as a name. Makes me think of Seinfeld: Cashmere, Cashmere, Cashmere Georgie! ......What’s this? *notices red dot*

Cashmere, nn Merry? Flannel, nn Nelly? Worsted, nn Ted? Anything's possible, but that doesn't make it a good idea.

Why not Merino since we’re at it? Or Cotton and Polyester?

Thanks, Merino is quite pretty.

I think I prefer Pashmina. Cashmere does have an all right sound to it, but I prefer it spelled Kashmir, that's very nice. I made a list of all the nameworthy fabric types once.... I remember Briolette, Batiste, Broderie, Zibeline.... Oh, I love the way Damask looks, but it's too close to "dumbass" to really work. Chintz is kinda fun. And Twill!

I know it's the fabric, but gosh, it is not catchy at all. All I can think of is a sweater.
