Something of a GP, I do like it and find it charming. But I wouldn't consider using it.

Sounds like medicineLook, I know that the jonquil is a flower, but every time I see this word and say it aloud I think of NyQuil cough medicine, and its counterparts DayQuil and ZzzQuil. Jonquil sounds like over-the-counter medicine for... a sinus infection, or something. Not to mention that the nicknames don't exactly recommend themselves. Jonny? Quill / Quillie? Eeek.

I like it for both genders. I wouldn't actually use it though.

I like it and yet i don't. It'd be good for a character.

Ugly. It sounds like a medicine.

It’s my aunt’s nameI like it because of her and because of the flower, but I can see why people find it clunky.

I like Jonquil exclusively from an association I have of seeing a production of "The Glass Menagerie", where the mother character, I can't remember her name, was remembering her youth as a Southern Belle and how gentlemen callers used to bring her jonquils because she had a craze for them one summer. So the word/name is very Southern Gothic to me, which I do enjoy. I agree that it is kind of grotesque, but that's also part of its "charm".

So uglyI want to like this name, but I find it irredeemably ugly. Tanaquil is much better.

It sounded good at first, till I realized it was feminine. The Jon part makes it seem masculine. Anyway, it's ok.
