Sounds dated. Only for a boy. Being a fish doesn't automatically mean it's not good for a name IMO but this one isn't my style.

I think Marlen is kind of nice, it seems unisex to me.

I agree with the user who was talking about the fish. Also, from Finding Nemo, Nemo's dad.

I always liked it, but prefer Marlon. Marlin is all right but it's a fish. It's a man's name.
