It's fine as a childhood nickname within the home but later on it would be too cutesy. It kind of makes you wonder where the S comes from. I like Emmie better.
I dislike Millie as well but it would never occur to me to call an Emily Millie just as it wouldn't occur to me to call an Aidan Dan or an Aaron Ron (I once met a Dan and found out years later that it was short for Aidan and it was so confusing hahaha).
