Help[Opinions] Opinions on Ingrid
Ingrid is one of my absolute favorite names. It's Very common in Nordic Countries and it's used in Germany as well. I believe it's also used in other European countries. In the U.S., I've met 2 Ingrid's, but they were from Hispanic origins. One was a 50 year old woman who is from Costa Rica, and the other is a 16 year old girl from Mexico. I had no clue it was also used in Spanish! My friends say "It sounds so gritty, and it reminds me of an old and dusty croqueted stuffed animal." which was oddly specific. What about you, do you like the name Ingrid? What are your opinions it, do you agree with my friends?

Um, no it doesn't remind me of dusty crocheted toys.
I think it sounds sophisticated, not because it's fancy, but because i names often look elegant to me, and the *grid part implies 'sturdy, organized, well put together' to me.
Plus, the ing part is springy, and d endings seem no-nonsense. I enjoy saying it.
I feel like Astrid is more Now, and Sigrid is more fun, but Ingrid is most stylish.

I find it so lovely. I can imagine a bookish, delightfully haughty woman as easily as I can imagine a bubbly blonde (not that a single human can't encapsulate all of that, of course!).

I sort of agree with your friends, but in the sense that that is what makes Ingrid charming. It has a sort of homespun toughness about it, a dusty forgotten elegance (thanks Ingrid Bergman).
My Oma wanted to call me this name after her sister, but my mother refused because she thought it was hideous (to be fair, my mother definitely has "a type" when it comes to names she likes, and Ingrid is the polar opposite of that type). Ingrid has a kind of "ugly duckling" energy to it - it's actually quite chic in a certain light, but most people can't see its elegance and can only see it as lanky and clumsy.
It's such a lovely green colour to me, and has a wise, calm aura about it.

I love the name Ingrid, it's very mature and I could see it on a woman of any age, race, personality.

Interestingly, the one Ingrid I know is Hispanic. It’s an ok name but a bit boring.

I LOVE Ingrid it is all things in a substantial name: beautiful, strong, mature but still youthful, it's approachable and ordinary but still stand out in a crowd.
