Oh, I love Fern, it's one of my sleeper favourites. It's a quiet, odd little name - unusual but very gentle about it. I see it as a very intelligent name as well. I also love that Fern is also German for "far away" (or something like that), which is so poetic. I definitely get hippie vibes from Fern.
I came up with the combo Fern Amanda a little while ago and thought that was adorable. Fern Francine also delights me.
Fern Christina would be beautiful as well. Alice Fern is really sweet, and works better than Fern Alice, imo. And come to think of it, Charlotte Fern would be a charming combo... Fern Charlotte works too! But maybe that's a bit too "themey".
I like pairing Fern with middle names that were once very popular choices and are maybe a bit dated now, it seems to warm up the name so much:
