I didn't like the idea of Angel on a female until I met one. Now I love it. I think the sound is just adorable and spunky, and it's rare enough on females that it's unexpected.
The only reason I wouldn't use it is it's too religious for me.
I also like it on men, but I wouldn't use it as a non-Hispanic individual. It's pronounced quite differently in Spanish.
