It seems very whimsical. I like whimsical names so I'd be happy to meet a Lavender. I'd be curious what they go by for short.

Yes that is sort of the problem. There are no good nicknames. Lav is awful. Lavvie doesn't work. Ven or Vendy feel like a fake Wendy.
