[Opinions] Nevaeh
Nevaeh is heaven backwards. What do you think of this name? It tends to get a lot of hate in the namenerd community. It’s not that bad IMO.

I have no idea how to say it without sounding insane. I sound like I'm having some kind of... outburst? When I try to say it.
I've also never, ever, ever even heard of it being used as a name (here in the UK), it almost feels like Chlamydia or Latrine / Latrina, an urban legend 'trashy' kind of name with some potential uncomfortable bigoted connotations to said legend.
Etymology or 'trashiness' aside, I find the look and sound really very ugly. It looks like a made up name from a rubbish self-published fantasy name where the author put down letters they thought would be a pretty name but when you say it aloud it sounds like a sound humans shouldn't make... you know the kind of names I'm talking about. Kaethrythia. Fhaelith. Thlasia. Yeah, it also gives 'hitting the keyboard and it made a name I could say' vibes. There's def endless self-published fantasy erotica novels on Amazon with author self-insert characters called Nevaeh, that's all I'm saying.
Also for some reason my brain thinks it should be Naveah. That's not even a word backwards or a name and it feels less awkward than Nevaeh. Neva-eh.
Again, full disclosure, if your name is Neveah or you wanna use Nevaeh (or have) please don't be hurt by my opinion, the world takes all sorts and beauty is in the eye of the beholder so there are people who love Nevaeh and I've met many people who hate my name and seen many people who have bad opinions of it (Susanna, yes, it is prim and precious). I do not intend to be hateful or hurtful and my opinion is not universal. Nevaeh is not good to me, but other people may love it.

I know a man, 30s, called Navarre. Presumably they sound pretty much the same; if I had to choose, I'd go for Navarre in spite of not liking geographical names in general. That -aeh is thoroughly unEnglish, and the idea that spelling a word - any word - backwards turns it magically into a name is very strange. Nevaeh looks and sounds better than, say, Ydnarb, but that doesn't make it good.
To be totally honest, I’ve always thought it sounded really pretty. I really love the sound of it actually. The whole heaven spelled backwards thing is neither here nor there for me, though I’ve always thought the spelling was a little strange because of that fact. Nevaya makes so much more sense to my brain and I don’t mind the way it looks at all. I think it gets a lot of unnecessary hate, simply because it’s heaven spelled backwards and started off as a celeb baby name. It actually reminds me of a few Hebrew names with similar sounds that are also beautiful.
It's not my style. I'm not entirely sure what style it is, because I don't know any Nevaehs. But it sounds nice.
I like how it dgaf about people sneering at it being heaven backwards. It has a playful innocent sense of humor.
Do you know any Nevaehs, or what other names people like, who like Nevaeh?
What other names are used in the same style as Nevaeh?

I like it, honestly. I really do like it.
Backwords heaven seems cheesy. It isn't the worst name, but it feels like it is trying too hard to be precious. I'm not crazy about Celeste for similar reasons, but it is a bit better than Nevaeh or Heaven as a name.
I do like some names that have a heavenly or paradise meaning such as Amaterasu, Caelius, Firdaus, Haneul, Heirani, Leilani, etc...

I don't think it sounds bad, but it just looks awkward. I am also surprised how popular it became. It's been in the top 100 for 15 years now.
It sounds pretty, but I don’t like the heaven backwards thing. I’d change the spelling to Nevaya or Navaya.
I like the Nevaya idea, a lot.
But, misspellings :(

It sounds and looks ugly...
It's cute and I like it.
I think many people have a problem with it because of the slightly cheesy (but not bad) "heaven backwards" thing and because it started as a celeb baby name.
If no one had told people about its creation (and they just figured it was a nice coincidence) and told them it was some old Hebrew name people would love it.
It sounds a lot like many Hebrew names in my opinion and it is pretty.

It's not terrible. It sounds fine. It kind of makes me think of Nivea sometimes but it's not too bad. But I really can't warm up to the spelling. I know it fundamentally has to be what it is but it just looks off, it looks like a word backwards and it bothers me.
