[Opinions] Piaget
How do y'all feel about Piaget? Masculine/feminine/unisex?
I just saw it on a baby female character, and then checking BtN found out it's Solange Knowles' middle name! I would've thought it was a masculine name but I can see how it could be feminine now.

As a psychologist I of course automatically think of Jean Piaget (1896-1980) when I hear it. Although he is famous for his work on cognitive development in children, his own degree was actually in biology, not psychology.
In case anyone is interested, the surname Piaget originally meant "keeper of a toll booth." :)

It reminds me of the psychologist or the watch brand. I really don’t get this notion that any random surname can be a given name.
I mean, it just reminds me of the psychologist. I don't really see it as anything other than a French surname.
Seconded
I immediately thought of Jean Piaget (psychologist).
And the word "Piagetian" (referring to his theories) which I believe is pronounced "Pee a Jet ee un" despite the name being "pee a zhay".
Then I thought - it seems like a "bling" name, because it's the name of an expensive jewelry/watch company. Like Cartier (Fr. pron.) as a name.
I don't really like how it sounds, so those associations distract me, and I'm not enthused.
But it's not horribad like Freud or Rolex would be. Just a French-sounding surname as a first name - gives me an impression more like Monet than anything.
