[Opinions] Re: Miranda
I've probably commented this before, but I'll go ahead and say it here: Miranda is among my all-time favorite names. I want to say Lord of the Rings actually introduced me to the name Miranda, or at least the movies did. (Éowyn is played by Australian actress Miranda Otto, who I've since seen in other movies / TV shows.) There's also the British actress Miranda Richardson; and then there was that really weird con artist movie Miranda with Christina Ricci (one of my favorite actresses growing up). Basically everywhere I found the name Miranda, it imparted an appealing mystique. And it hasn't faded.I could easily name my daughter Miranda, if I ever had one. What's amusing is that I was almost named Amanda by my parents and I'm thankful that I wasn't because I don't care for Amanda (excessively popular; and there's the whole "A man, duh!" thing)... but the rhythm of Amanda is very, very similar to Miranda that it doesn't make much sense that one of those names would appeal to me so much more than the other.***Please rate my personal name lists:www.behindthename.com/pnl/69381
