[Opinions] Brooklyn
Brooklyn is a unisex name meaning “broken land” or “marsh land” and is also the name of a borough in New York City. What do you think of the name?

It's ok
Not a fan. Doesn’t help that in Italy it’s also a chewing gum brand.
It’s starting to sound dated now, and I didn’t even like it when surnames and place names were in their heyday. It doesn’t even have a nice sound or mouth feel when I say it. It just kind of sits in the back of my throat like a frog croak.
I think I would like it more if it weren't the name of a borough and of Brooklyn Beckham.
The borough association gives it such an urban, grey-ish, colorless vibe whereas the Brooklyn Beckham association adds a formerly trendy celeb-baby feel and makes it feel tired and dated.
If the borough didn't exist (or wasn't famous) and it had never been used on a very famous celeb baby I think it could have grown on me for a girl and I wouldn't hate it for a boy either.
I loved both Brooke and Lynn at some point and I do love Caitlin as well so Brooklyn would have seemed like a soft nature-y girls name. Or an okay boys name.
But unfortunately I have these two associations so it just feels dated, tired and lifeless to me.

Not a fan. It feels trendy and a bit cheesy.
